Hackney Nursery Fees & Funding
Hours & Sessions
First Day Nursery Hackney is open 8:00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday for 51 weeks a year.
The setting is closed for all bank holidays, three inset days and week at Christmas.
We offer a full day care session from 8:00am - 6:00pm
We operate on a basis of a minimum of 3 sessions for children with 30 hours funding and a minimum of 2 sessions for children with 15 hours funding.
Fees
Fees are payable a month in advance on the first of the month. Fees are based on 51 weeks a year excluding bank holidays, three inset days and Christmas week.
We accept childcare vouchers from all subsidiary schemes including tax credits.

Free Early Education Entitlement
First Day Nursery is an approved provider of free childcare and education funding for 9 months – 4 year olds.
All 3 to 4-year-olds are eligible for 15 hours free funded childcare places: this is taken over 38 weeks of the year during term time.
3 to 4-year-olds may also receive 30 hours free funded childcare places; this is subject to eligibility. For 30 hours of funding eligibility, please speak to the management team for further details or click on the link below.
Free Childcare for 3 to 4-year-olds

2 year olds may also receive 15 hours free funded childcare places if they meet the eligibility criteria laid out by the government.
Free Childcare for 2-year-olds

For children aged 9 months to 4 years.
Eligible working families can apply for 30 hours of childcare to use from the term after their child turns 9 months until they reach school age.

Tax-Free Childcare
We accept Tax-Free Childcare payments, you can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year).

Student Childcare Grant
2025 to 2026 academic year
You can get 85% of your childcare costs or a fixed maximum amount, whichever is less.
The maximum you can get is:
up to £199.62 a week for 1 child
up to £342.24 a week for 2 or more children
