Working together with Families
We wholeheartedly understand and support the importance of your role as a parent in your child’s wellbeing and development. This is why we promote parental involvement throughout your child’s time with us.
Each child will be allocated a member of staff known to the parent and child as your child's "Key Person". Your child's key person will engage in daily feedback, conduct your child's observations and assessments, meet with you to keep you up to date with their learning and development.
Parents are encouraged to give feedback about their children's home learning as much as possible to aid the learning and development of their children. This allows us to focus on each child's unique needs, wellbeing and interests, fulfilling their overall development.
At First Day Nursery Hackney, we use the FAMlY app, which allows parents to access their child's learning journey along with key information about their day. Parents can share photos from home and access their child's account. This supports us in achieving an open communication system between us and the parents.
Our Parent Committee meetings are held every 6 weeks via zoom with nursery management to discuss how we’re doing and what improvements we could consider. We have had many helpful suggestions and ideas to come out of these meetings, and it helps us maintain our focus on what it’s like being a parent at our nursery.
We value the contributions made by parents and will actively seek a partnership through which the children will benefit by having continuous and consistent care. This is essential to support children's confidence and develop their learning potential.
